Founded in 2002, UTSHARGA is a professionally managed, state-level NGO committed to driving sustainable community development. The organization is registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860, with additional registrations under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 12A & 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961, CSR (Ministry of Corporate Affairs), and GSTN (Commercial Tax).
For over 23 years, UTSHARGA has been working tirelessly to address issues of local governance while implementing diverse development programs in education, health, livelihood, culture, spirituality, food security, fisheries, environmental protection, consumer rights, and sports.
Our focus remains on empowering marginalized communities—including SCs, STs, OBCs, minorities, women, children, persons with disabilities, the destitute, leprosy-affected individuals, and the ultra-rural poor—ensuring dignity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all.
We strongly believe in people’s participation for good governance. To achieve this, UTSHARGA works to strengthen community-level institutions such as Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Federations, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), building their capacity to manage programs in a sustainable and impactful way.
Our mission is to foster social awareness and empowerment among the tribal, rural, and underprivileged communities of Odisha. We aim to strengthen local institutions and enable them to lead inclusive, equitable, and sustainable development initiatives—rooted in social justice, environmental stewardship, and community participation.
Our vision is to build a prosperous and healthy society that upholds democratic values and ensures holistic development for disadvantaged rural and tribal communities.
